Agenda

1. Please complete the 10/24 & 10/27 Bell Ringer.

   • Directions: This is a reflection on your academic progress, in-class actions, and classroom behavior during Quarter One.

   • It is formatted as a quiz only so you meet the length requirement for each question.

   • For each question, be specific. Think of an answer with data—AKA specific things you can point to as evidence, such as your grades, completed assignments, etc.

     • What is one thing you did well in English 9H this quarter?

     • What is one thing you could improve on?

     • How will you improve on #2 next quarter?

2. Complete the Quarter 1 Catch-Up Checklist.

   • Step One: Look and see if you have a grade for the assignment in Gradebook.

   • Step Two:

     • If you have a grade for the assignment on Gradebook: put a sticker on that assignment to check it off.

     • If you do not have a grade for that assignment on Gradebook (AKA if you haven’t turned it in or completed it): Complete the assignment. If it’s paper, take a picture and upload a picture of the completed assignment to Canvas and turn it into the basket (the blue tower!). If it’s digital, complete and submit it on Canvas.

   • Step Three: Repeat Steps 1 & 2 until you have checked off every assignment.

3. Complete the GR #1.

   • Directions: You are going to revise another person’s 8-sentence body paragraph. This assignment has two aspects: completing the graphic organizer and making notes on your peer’s 8-sentence body paragraph.

After you have completed every assignment, check off the back with me! You will then be allowed to play games for the rest of the period.

If you participate fully in this activity:

• You will be eligible to complete 2 (two) Grade Insurance Activities.

  • What is a Grade Insurance Activity? A Grade Insurance Activity is an activity/assignment of my choosing that you can choose to replace any two low-scoring standards of your choice. Grade Insurance Activities are typically easier than the assignments/standards they replace.

• You will be allowed to submit late work up until October 26, 2022, instead of October 21, 2022.

What does it look like to “participate fully”?

• Completing the assignment honestly and truthfully

  • Ensuring you have a grade for that standard on Gradebook and that you have actually submitted all your assignments. You are not just marking off assignments without checking. Not cheating/copying work from others.

• Not goofing around

  • Remaining on task, not talking too much, or being disruptive to your classmates and the people around you.

• Being respectful

  • Remaining quiet and on-task during the checklist and after. Not distracting your classmates when playing games after you have completed the checklist.
