Agenda
Complete the Article 2 Brainstorm.
You will be divided into groups of 4-5 students each.
Each group will be assigned one of the following topics to focus on: News, Sports, Arts & Culture, Feature, and Opinion.
Brainstorm as many article ideas as possible related to your assigned topic. Think creatively and come up with unique angles. Your group must produce ten (10) article ideas.
There is a time limit of 30 minutes for the brainstorming session.
After the time is up, each group will share their top 3-5 ideas with the class.
As a class, we will discuss and develop these ideas as needed.
Find one other person to write the article with (work in pairs). Each pair will be responsible for developing one of the chosen ideas into a complete article, which will be due in two weeks. There will be a progress check-in next week.
Begin working on Article 2.
You will write this article in pairs. You can both submit the same article for your rough and final drafts, but you must also submit proof of individual journalistic research.
Examples of Individual Journalistic Research:
An audio recording of you conducting an interview
A screenshot of an email exchange between you and someone you interviewed
A rough draft of the article you wrote yourself
