Beginning Activity: Explore mystery objects by touch.
Rules:
Everyone at the table must be blindfolded the entire time.
I will place a box at your desk when everyone's eyes are covered.
As a table, use your hands to feel the objects & try to guess what they are.
Once you have guessed every object, everyone should raise their hand.
KEEP YOUR BLINDFOLD ON!
I will come around and explain each object. Then take your blindfold off.

Something that has interested you & caused you to fall down a rabbit-hole researching
Something you know to be true
Activity: Things I Know
Write your name on the top of your paper.
Write, in well-formed sentences, five (5) things you know.
Write it in the form: “I know ___________.”
Generate at least one personal example of something you know with certainty.
After you have written 5 things you know, go back and justify each knowledge claim.
How do you know each of these statements is true?
Are there multiple ways you know that is true, and if so, do you accept this knowledge because of the collective ways you know it to be true, or is there one reason above all others that you accept this knowledge?
Look at your list again.
Are your statements, "I know that..." statements, or "I know how..." statements, or a combination of the two types?
If you only have one type of "I know" statement, go back and add one of the types you are missing and repeat the justification process for this new statement.
We will now play extreme rock-paper-scissors with our knowledge claims.
The ones that cannot be disputed are the “winners.”
